The Fairfield Library has a lot happening in November. Pre-K Storytime is every Wednesday at 10:00 am. This event includes a read aloud story, a craft, and popcorn with a juice pack or water. 3-D Printing is every Tuesday at 4:00 pm. There is a Spanish class at 4:00 pm on Thursday’s, a Fiber Arts Class (A.K.A. Dewey Knitting) each Friday at 10 am, and beginning on the 9th there will be a series of writing workshops (see below). In addition to these weekly activities, there will be a Family Bingo Night on November 1st, and a Family Movie Night on November 15th.

Director Wiggins says the Library will be focusing on Recycle Education and the Environment in November as well. On Tuesday the 15th, which is National Recycle Day, the movie WALL-E will be showing at 5:30 pm. Wall-E educates viewers on the consequences of not taking care of the environment. Storytime participants will be involved in recycling and trash sorting themed activities on the 15th. A prize box will be available starting on the 4th for children that complete required activities and activity sheets. Later in the month tree saplings will be available for give away as well.

Mystery Author to Teach
at Fairfield Library

Chris Rogers, author of mystery, science-fiction and paranormal suspense novels, nonfiction articles and books, plus more than 40 short stories, will begin a weekly series of writing workshops in November. A former continuing education instructor at Rice University and the University of Houston, Rogers has been published by, among others, Bantam Books, Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine and Writers Digest.
Workshops will focus on easy and fun storytelling techniques that impact both fiction and nonfiction. Each week will present a different story approach, such as plot building, character passions and motivation, action, dialogue, tension, narrative and wordplay. The classes will begin Wednesday, November 9th, 2:00 to 3:30pm, open to teens and adults. RSVP ahead is required to join the classes.
