Rainfall-wise, September was a continuation of our summer drought with only 0.17 inch of rain for the month. We had only three days with measureable rainfall with a greatest one-day total of 0.09 inch on September 18. Our total rainfall for the year now stands at 39.78 inches. Our normal rainfall for the entire year is 42.41 inches.
Summer ended as a record dry summer for the past 25 years. Total rainfall for the ninety-four days of summer was 4.18 inches and 3.42 inches of that fell the first ten days of summer.
Our third quarter also ended as a record dry quarter with only 0.76 inch of rain for the three-month period. July produced 0.59 inch of that rain.
Temperature-wise, September temperatures were slightly above normal with highs mostly in the mid to upper-nineties. Low temperatures were also slightly above normal with lows mostly in the mid to upper seventies. High temperature for the month was 97 degrees. Low temperature for the month was 70 degrees.

Looking ahead to October: October is our normally wettest month of the year due to some heavy rains in the 10 to 14 inch range over the past several years. Our normal October rainfall is 5.27 inches.
