Principal Von Wade of Fairfield High School was called to the Eagle Field center yard line during halftime at the last home game of the season. He joined six students representing the FHS band, football team and cheerleaders: Anna Kaye Williams, Conner Jackson, Ty Bachtel, Jordan Gibson, Edith Cockerell, and Katie Judd.
Mr. Wade joined the Fairfield ISD staff in August of 1977 as a rookie teacher/coach.
During his tenure he has served at Junior High as teacher/coach, High School teacher-coach/defensive coordinator, Jr. High Assistant Principal, High School Assistant Principal, and for the last twenty-five years as FHS principal.
During his forty-plus years of service, Mr. Wade has never missed a FHS football game.
Since 1977 he has attended and participated in 457 consecutive Eagle games.
To honor his perfect attendance, student representatives presented him with an award to honor his support, devotion and dedication.
