Limestone County Emergency Management announced Monday, March 23, 2020 at approximately 3:00 p.m. that a 50-year-old woman had tested positive for COVID-19 in Limestone County.


No more information was available at that time.


The Mexia ISD Band trip sponsor did test positive, but that was after he returned home after traveling back to Tennessee.


He is well now, and no one from the band trip has displayed the three symptoms of the virus.


At the time of press it was eleven days since he had contact with the members of the Mexia band and chaperones.


There are still NO cases of COVID-19 in Freestone County as of press time.
