Three Dodge Challengers were heading south on I-45 with alleged speeds up to 170 mph when Navarro County contacted Freestone County Sherriff’s office.


High Speed Chase ended in Teague and Fairfield the night of February 13, 2020.


As per the report, the vehicles exited the interstate in an attempt to evade the DPS state trooper.


Assisting agencies were properly in position to watch and take pursuit as they entered the various jurisdictions, namely Freestone County, Fairfield and Teague.


One Challenger was located in Teague after the driver had abandoned, and is believed to be stolen as per the report.


A second Challenger attempted to go east on Highway 84 crossing I-45, and then turn left to reenter I45 heading north.


At this point, the vehicle spun out of control.


Freestone County Sheriff’s Deputies tried to block the subject, Kataevion Harvey-Brown, from driving off, but Harvey-Brown began pushing the Deputies Tahoe, as per the report.


Harvey-Brown did not manage to get free by this attempt, and they exited the vehicle and ran on foot through Sam’s Restaurant parking lot.


The report details how Deputies and Fairfield Police Department followed on foot, with another Deputy and Fairfield Police Department Officer intercepting with their vehicle.


A safe arrest was made at this time.


Allegedly, the second Challenger possessed multiple narcotics and $2,250 in cash.


Kataevion Harvey-Brown was arrested and booked into the Freestone County Jail for:


–Evading Arrest with a vehicle
–Evading Arrest or Detention on foot
–Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon on a Public Servant
–Manufacturing and Delivery Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 greater than 400 G
–Possession Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1
–Possession Marijuana greater than 2 oz
–Displaying False/Fictitious License Plate


The investigation is ongoing by multiple agencies at this time.


Freestone County Sheriff’s Office, Teague Police Department, Fairfield Police Department, Wortham Police Department and Department of Public Safety all assisted on this case.


All officers were able to go home safe at the end of their shift.
