October is almost upon us, and Fairfield Lake State Park is ready with some spooky fun!

Mark your calendar for these events:

Black Light Night Hike
Every Saturday in October
7:15 – 8:15 p.m.

Join Ranger Dan for a night hike using black lights. Learn about night time bugs that glow under black light, you never know what you might see. We encourage you to bring your own black-light but the park will have a limited number to hand out. This short hike will begin at the South Boat Ramp Parking Lot and loop back around. It will take approx. 30 minutes to walk.

Normal Park Entry Fees Apply. Please wear comfortable walking shoes.

Dutch Oven Breakfast Cooking Demo
Saturday, October 13
9:00 to 10:00 a.m.

Uncle Mike’s Kitchen presents simple breakfast snacks that anyone can whip up over a campfire or coals while in the woods.

Located in the Cooks Ferry Camping Loop by the Volleyball Field.

Normal Park Entry Fees Apply. Children 12 and Under are Free.

Spooky Campfire Stories and S’mores
Saturday, October 20
7:30 to 9:00 p.m.

Gather around the campfire, make a tasty s’more and listen to some spooky stories told by Park Rangers. Kids are welcome to dress up in their Halloween costume (weather Permitting).

Normal Park Entry Fees Apply. Children 12 and Under are Free.

About the Park:
Located northeast of Fairfield, Fairfield Lake State Park is set along the shoreline of a 2,400-acre lake.

Entrance fees are $4 for adults per day. Children 12 and under admitted free of charge. (Normal entry fees apply for all events)
