500 families to receive food donation at Navarro College South on May 5

Arizona Cardinals Offensive Tackle Kelvin Beachum, Jr. is returning to his hometown to host a food distribution in Mexia, Texas.   The Central Texas Food Bank and H-E-B are partners in this event providing food and needed support.

“I am so thankful that H-E-B is joining me in providing much needed support for the Central Texas Food Bank and the families of Mexia.  I know firsthand what this food means to families who are just making ends meet. Hunger never takes a day off. It is important to do my part to alleviate hunger in Texas, not just during the holidays, but throughout the year,” said Beachum.

“The Food Bank is proud to partner with NFL star Kelvin Beachum on this special distribution in his hometown, said Sari M. Vatske, President & CEO of the Central Texas Food Bank. “Kelvin has been an ambassador for the Food Bank’s mission for more than six years, and we are deeply appreciative of his voice and his leadership to help end hunger here in Central Texas. We are also especially grateful to top grocery partner H-E-B for their donation of nutritious fruit, vegetables, protein and water for this special distribution.”

Beachum is sponsoring a drive thru food distribution to feed 500 families facing food insecurity in Limestone County.  With the help of the Central Texas Food Bank and H-E-B Cares, the food distribution begins at 9am at Navarro College South.  Those in need will drive through to collect a box of food for their household that includes proteins, fresh produce and other items. The distribution is open to the public and food will be provided first come, first served. Vouchers will be given out onsite to ensure no one waits in line unnecessarily.
