Fairfield ISD is starting up a fishing team!

The kids can win prizes and even earn scholarship money.

Students must meet academic requirements to fish, and all TPWD laws will be in effect for each student fishing.

Students in grades 9 to 12 are eligible to participate.

Membership is $60.00, and each tournament has a $65 fee per student. Students are responsible for their own gear.

FISD plans to finalize membership by the end of August.

Each boat has a student-caught five fish maximum. The fish will be released by tournament officials after weigh-in.

The Fishing Team does not have a UIL ruling or school funding. Funding is solely private.

Fairfield is part of the Central Division of the Texas High School Bass Association and will have tournaments on a variety of lakes over the state of Texas.

The schedule is as follows:

–Saturday, September 28th, 2019 Lake Palestine

–Saturday, October 19th, 2019 Richland Chambers

–Saturday, November 9th, 2019 Lake Fork

–Saturday, February 22nd, 2020 Lake Ray Hubbard
