A manhunt ensued for Lee Erler, still at large at time of press, after a domestic disturbance call turned worse. Limestone County Sherriff Office responded to the call located near Mexia, Texas. Lee Erler would not come out of his house, and fired at the officers according to the unconfirmed reports. An arrest of a different, unnamed, person was made at the scene. A helicopter and drones were deployed in order to better search for Erler, and they kept FM1365 restricted. An ambulance was seen leaving the scene according to eyewitnesses.
Limestone County Sheriff Dennis Wilson was not available for comment at press time. However, according to Navarro County Sheriff Elmer Tanner, whose SWAT Team and Crisis Negotiations Unit responded to a mutual aid request for assistance, the suspect turned himself in on Monday, February 3rd to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office and arrested without incident.
