Following a rousing rendition of the Star Spangled Banner by Blake Fisk, the bidding contest took off in a flurry for the 2018 Freestone County Youth Livestock Show Sale on Saturday, June 16, 2018.

Once the gavel came down for the last time, sales were logged at $385,425 plus $120,000 in add-ons.

With a total of $505,425, buyers shelled out almost 17% more than last year’s sale.

GRAND CHAMPIONS

This year’s Grand Champion Steer sold to NIP Ranch for $14,500 by exhibitor Logan Todd (At Top of Page).

 

Grand Champion Swine sold to Freestone County Farm Bureau for $5,000 by exhibitor Cade Nelson.

 

Citizens State Bank of Teague bought the Grand Champion Sheep for $3,500 from exhibitor Kade Kimball.

The Grand Champion Goat was not sold, as exhibitor Cade Nelson was allowed to sell only one of his Grand Champion animals.

 

Purchasing the Grand Champion Poultry from exhibitor Peyton M. Faulk for $2,250 was Bush’s Chicken.

 

BWS Services bought the Grand Champion Rabbit for $2,750 from exhibitor Kylie Reed.

 

 

RESERVE CHAMPIONS

 

The Reserve Champion Steer was purchased by Shell Creek Cattle Company for $7,000 from exhibitor Blake Looney.

 

Reserve Champion Swine was bought by Citizens State Bank of Teague for $3,250 from exhibitor Abigail Young.

 

Nelson Propane purchased the Reserve Champion Sheep for $3,100 from exhibitor Madilynn Isaacs.

 

The Reserve Champion Goat, exhibited by Landry Bayless was bought by Community National Bank & Trust for $3,500.

 

Reserve Champion Poultry was sold to Brookshire Brothers of Fairfield & Teague, Fairfield Lions Club, and Teague Chamber of Commerce for $2,225 by exhibitor Stephanie Brown.

 

Putting down $2,100 for the Reserve Champion Rabbit, exhibited by Jake White, was Golden Circle Buyers Group.
