Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of McLennan County will be conducting a Mediterranean Diet cooking class from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2022.

The Mediterranean Diet is a way of eating and preparing foods in the United States that is based on the eating traditions from Italy, Greece, and other countries that border the Mediterranean Sea.

Much of the Mediterranean Diet will concentrate on plant-based foods, such as whole grains, vegetables, legumes, fruits, nuts, seeds, herbs, and spices which are the foundation of the diet.

Food items such as fish, dairy, poultry, and seafood are all eaten in moderation which allow olive oil to be one of the main sources of added fat in this type of diet.

Cost for this class is $39.00 and the instructor will be Mrs. Colleen Foleen.

To Register for the class, go to MCC Continuing Education website at https://cereg.mclennan.edu or call the at 254-299-8888.
