Peach aficionados know that Freestone are the best variety around.

If you are a fan of this juicy fruit, make your way to Fairfield as they play host to the best event:  the Fuzzy Peach Fest.

Mark your calendars for July 15th & 16th and come out to the Freestone County courthouse square to enjoy cornhole tournament, live music by The Fog & street dance, Little Peach pageant, ice cream and cupcake eating contest, cooking contest, water slide, food trucks, games and more live music by Kate Watson.

Local shops will also host a Peach Stroll.

For those interested in entering this year’s Little Miss Peach pageant, there is a mandatory meeting on Thursday, July 7th at 6:30 p.m. at the courthouse steps. Entry forms are due that date, as well, and may be dropped off at Creations Flowers & Gifts or to the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce office.

Little Miss Peach pageant is for 3 to 6-year-olds and 7 to 10-year-olds. Dress code is cute, sassy & comfy.

Residence does not have to be in Freestone County to participate.

Entries for the 2022 Fuzzy Peach Cookery Contest must be turned in during the festival on Saturday, July 16th between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at Dessert by MommaCakes. Cost is $5 per entry.

Available categories include:

–Cake

–Pie/Cobbler

–Other Desserts

–Ice Cream

–Non-Dessert

Age divisions will be Youth (16 & under) and Adult.

Judging will be conducted by members of the Fairfield History Club, with winners announced at 1:30 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded.

For those wanting to be considered for “Best of Show,” a copy of the recipe must accompany the prepared dish, along with contestant’s name, address and telephone number.

Any type peaches may be used.

Vendors are welcome to set up during the festival (6:00 – 10:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15 and 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 16th).

Sell a product, do a giveaway, or play a game with the kids in our community.

All Vendors are FREE; but must register with Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.

Electrical outlets are limited. Vendors responsible for extension cords (if needed).

If used, tents must be weighted down. No stakes are allowed on the Courthouse lawn.
