Celebrating forty years of continuous service at Brookshire Brothers in Fairfield, Texas is the man, the legend, the myth: Brian Ingram.

The long-time store manager was surprised with a certificate and a party on Monday, January 27, 2020.

According to Rebekah Shaw, Assistant Store Director, Ingram did not suspect a thing until that morning when he started seeing some important people show up at his store.

“We can’t be more proud of you, and everything you’ve accomplished,” said District Director Kent Pursley.

Also present to mark the occasion were Tommy Wright, former Store Director in Teague; Roy Tilley, former District Director; John Alston, President/CEO; and Luke Gustafson, Vice President.

With a smile on his face, Ingram jokingly asked, “Is it too late to ask for a raise?”

Ingram’s first day on the job was February 3, 1979.

Since then, he has helped develop many employees in their careers, several moving on to manager their own stores.

A few shared stories of how Ingram helped them. One in particular said that, after meeting his future wife at Brookshire Brothers, Ingram went so far as to help jump start his ’79 Trans Am so the couple could travel to their honeymoon.

“I couldn’t ask for a better crew,” said an emotional Ingram. “Thanks for the love.”
