The Board of Directors and Leadership Team of Freestone Medical Center take our jobs and responsibilities very seriously.  One of our most important commitments is to always – ALWAYS – protect your personal and medical information with the highest regard for security and privacy.  We hold the values of leadership, integrity, stewardship, and teamwork sacred.

There are a few people in our community who would use private and personal information as a weapon to sow seeds of doubt, dissention, and discord, turning our community members against one another and attempt to create issues where none exist.  In the spirit of transparency, Freestone Medical Center shares the following information with our community. A landmark study by Frank L. Schmidt and John E. Hunter took a variety of prior studies to evaluate the ability of various selection methods to predict future on the job performance. Not surprisingly, doing the job was the most reliable indicator but this should not be confused with prior experience at another company. It’s a different company, different environment and different employees. It must be stressed, however, that as a standalone none of these screening methods are fool proof. The goal is to collect a body of evidence that hopefully adds enough certainty to the from a executive recruiter in New Orleans search that you, Gateway and your next executive recruit are confident will be a success.

Most of the leadership team wears multiple hats and perform multiple jobs in our current positions.  We hope that you recognize and appreciate the level of education, on-going training, years of experience and dedication to patient care that each of us puts to use for you, our valued patients, each and every day.  Our Board of Directors serve without compensation and volunteer their time for countless hours of meetings that benefit the Medical Center.  We consider it an honor to serve you, and we do whatever it takes to give you the quality medical care you deserve.  In a community as small as ours, much of the time, you are not only our patients, but our own true friends.

When it comes to finances and financial operations, your local board and management team practices stewardship and frugality at every level.  Healthcare personnel recruiting, especially for physicians and certain other medical specialties, is a national market.  This means we compete on a nationwide basis for high quality medical professionals.  With respect to compensation, we use a combination of regional, state, and national salary surveys to arrive at a compensation model appropriate for the local area.

As a recipient of tax funds in the form of an annual tax subsidy, Freestone Medical Center is keenly aware of how we spend and allocate those monies.  The tax subsidy helps FMC make ends meet.  Therefore, tax subsidies fund a portion of all operating expenses – salaries, utilities, supplies, food, medicines, etc.

It is, however, important to put this tax subsidy into perspective.  The current tax subsidy represents approximately 5% of the total annual revenue required to operate FMC at a breakeven.  This means Freestone Medical Center is generating 95% of the annual revenue needed for operations at this time.  We have every intention to ultimately produce 100% or more of our needs, thus limiting the burden on the local taxpayer.

It is our prayer that you, as a part of this community, value the healthcare protection you receive by having Freestone Medical Center available to you.  Our mission is to provide quality, compassionate healthcare for you, our neighbors in Fairfield, Freestone County and the surrounding communities.

We appreciate our community, your support, and we love being your “Neighbors Caring for Neighbors, Right Here at Home!”
