Evelyn was born August 5th, 1943, to Charlie and Peachie Baty in Teague, Texas. One of five children, Evelyn grew up on the family farm and attended Teague High School.  Just one day after graduation, Evelyn married F.E. Jones Jr. on May 27, 1961, and they were soon blessed with two children of their own.  Evelyn enjoyed showering her family with love by spending hours in the kitchen making everyone’s favorite dish or dessert and making every family event special.  A devout Christian, she volunteered at church whenever she could, cooking for funeral repasts, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and she loved every one of her “kids.”  Thankful for every day God gave her, Evelyn was blessed to watch seven grandchildren grow up which blessed her further with ten great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Peachie Baty, her brothers, Truman Baty and Charles Ray Baty, granddaughter Sara Whiteside, and son-in-law Kenneth Whiteside.
Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, F.E. Jones Jr., devoted daughter, Alisa (Jones) Whiteside, son and daughter-in-law Ronald and Patti Jones, and grandchildren Kimberly (Whiteside) Neal, Rebecca Jones, Kristopher Whiteside, Rachael (Jones) Marshall, Levi Whiteside and Heath Jones, sisters Valerie (Baty) Senter, and Carolyn (Baty) Hall, and many more beloved family and friends.
