HEIFER

Raymie Emmons of Fairfield 4-H earned Overall Grand Champion again this year for the 2023 Heifer Show. The Overall Reserve Grand Champion title went to Avery Elizabeth Strait of Fairfield FFA.
Senior Grand Showmanship title was awarded to Jayci Phillips of Teague FFA for a second year in a row; and Senior Reserve Showmanship went to Rhaina Emmons of Fairfield 4-H.
Junior Grand Showmanship title was earned by Arden Ellen Strait of Fairfield FFA; and Junior Reserve Showmanship went to Peyton Johnson of Fairfield FFA

American:
Grand Champion American Heifer was a Santa Gertrudis exhibited by Avery Elizabeth Strait. Reserve Champion American Heifer was a Beefmaster exhibited by Rhaina Emmons.
The Beefmaster Grand Champion heifer was exhibited by Rhaina Emmons and Reserve Champion Beefmaster heifer went to Raymie Emmons. Also in the running was Cason Jackson of Teague FFA who took 1st in his Beefmaster class.
Following with a 2nd place win in their Beefmaster class was Zain Fitzgerald of Teague FFA, plus a second entry by Rhaina Emmons.
Taking 3rd in their Beefmaster class was a second entry by Raymie Emmons.
The Brahman Grand Champion heifer was exhibited by Blaine Black of Teague FFA, and Reserve Champion Brahman heifer went to Raymond Fortoul of Wortham FFA.
These were the only two Brahman entries this year.
The Santa Gertrudis Grand Champion was exhibited by Avery Elizabeth Strait. Reserve Champion Santa Gerturdis went to Arden Ellen Strait.
A third Santa Gertrudis entry was exhibited by Arden Ellen Strait. All three in this breed showed in a separate class.
The American Other Grand Champion was exhibited by Peyton Johnson of Fairfield FFA. Reserve Champion for American Other was awarded to Elizabeth Pillans of Fairfield FFA.
These were the only two entries for the American Other breed.

British:
Grand Champion English Heifer was presented to Sophie Craig of Teague FFA.
There were no other entries this year for British heifers.

Exotic:
Grand Champion Continental Heifer is awarded to Jayci Phillips of Teague FFA, who also walked away with Reserve Champion Continental Heifer with her second entry.
Taking 3rd and 4th place with two separate entries is Payton Johnson of Fairfield FFA.

Non-Registered:
Grand Champion Commercial Heifer was presented to Raymie Emmons of Fairfield 4-H; Reserve Champion Commercial Heifer goes to Cullen Fryer of Teague FFA.
Also taking 1st in their class was a second entry by Cullen Fryer.
Earning 2nd in their class was Ally Farmer of Fairfield FFA, Kylie Kofnovec of Wortham 4-H, and a third entry by Cullen Fryer.

SWINE/GILT

Ava Thompson of Fairfield 4-H earned both the Grand Champion Breeding Gilt and the Reserve Champion Breeding Gilt.
This young lady also earned the title of Senior Grand Showman. The Senior Reserve Showman went to Alaina Baker of Fairfield FFA.
Junior Grand Showman was Finley Davis-Crump of Freestone Community 4-H, and Junior Reserve Showman was Stanley Petty of Fairfield FFA.
Breeding Swine were shown by weight:
Taking 1st Place in their weight class were Jaylin Flowers of Fairfield FFA, Mason Baillio of Fairfield 4-H, Ava Thompson.
Placing 2nd Place in their weight class were River Bonds of Fairfield FFA, Alaina Baker, Kloie Chambers of Fairfield 4-H, and Ava Thompson.
Earning 3rd in their weight class were Alaina Baker, Camryn Colvert of Fairfield FFA, Cade Nelson of Fairfield FFA, and Peyton Williams of Teague FFA.
4th in their weight class were Ava Thompson, Ava Campbell of Fairfield 4-H, Max Campbell of Fairfield 4-H.
Taking 5th were Blake Phillips of Fairfield FFA, Katelynn Simmons of Teague FFA, Carson Olivarez of Teague FFA, and Tylin Randle of Teague FFA.
Earning 6th were Addison Olivarez of Teague FFA, Kortlin Forge of Teague FFA, Miley Steen of Teague FFA, and Finley Davis-Crump.
Placing 7th were Toby Tucker of Teague FFA for two entries, Brock York of Wortham 4-H, and Caden Gonzales of Teague FFA.
Taking 8th was Stanley Petty, Kennedy Lane of Fairfield FFA, and Silas Howie of Freestone Community 4-H.
Taking 9th was Emma Davis-Crump.

LAMB

Earning Grand Champion Breeding Sheep in the 2023 show is Cole Coufal of Fairfield FFA. Haisley Layne of Freestone Community 4-H won Reserve Grand Champion Breeding Sheep.
Senior Grand Showmanship was awarded to Kaylee Ridge of Fairfield FFA, and the Senior Reserve Showmanship title went to Alix Aderman of Teague FFA.
Hunter Isaacs of Fairfield 4-H won Junior Grand Showmanship for the second year in a row, and Lexi Chapman of Wortham 4-H took Reserve Junior Showmanship.

GOATS

In the goat breeding competition, Grand Champion went to Ellie Grissett of Fairfield 4-H. Monty Morgan of Freestone Community 4-H was awarded the Reserve Champion title.
Senior Grand Showmanship winner was Ellis Grissett of Fairfield 4-H again this year. Reserve Senior Showmanship went to Monty Morgan of Freestone Community 4-H.
Winning Junior Grand Showmanship was Brynlee Scott of Fairfield 4-H.
–Under 1 Year: 1st – Ellie Grissett, 2nd – Ellie Grissett with her second entry, 3rd – Brynlee Scott, 4th – Suzune Awalt of Fairfield 4-H, 5th – went to Braylee Lerhman of Teague FFA, 6th – Shelby Prasil of Teague FFA, and 7th – Landon Morrison of Fairfield FFA.
–One to Two Years: 1st – Monty Morgan.

SINGLE FRYER RABBITS

Adalyn Black of Teague FFA was named Grand Champion Single Fryer Rabbit. Reserve Champion Single Fryer Rabbit was awarded to J. Bryson Myers of Fairfield 4-H.
Skylar Thomas of Teague FFA earned the Senior Grand Champion Showmanship award, and Jake White of Teague FFA received Senior Reserve Champion Showmanship.
Kylee McGowan of Teague FFA received the Junior Grand Champion Showmanship title, and Adalyn Black of Teague FFA was awarded the Junior Reserve Champion Showmanship award.
