After a long and valiant battle with cancer, Larry passed peacefully at home from this Life to Life Eternal on July 25, 2026.

Larry was born on May 27, 1952, in Baytown, TX, the middle of three sons to Eunice Mae & James Randolph (Jim) Williams.

The family moved to Fairfield where Larry’s Senior year of FHS where he met the love of his life, Carolyn Reed. Larry attended Navarro College and Carolyn went off to Baylor before soon deciding they simply wanted to do life “together”. They married on February 10, 1973, when Larry always lovingly said that his life began.

Larry knew right away he wanted to work hard & provide a good life for his family. He was one of the first two employees hired at SuperRock, Inc. in Streetman, TX. He had a tough work ethic; long, hard hours & doing whatever it took to get the job done well.

Larry advanced thru every buy-out & transfer with TXI; Bobby Rutherford Certified Crushed Stone; D.P. Frost Construction; Gifford-Hill; Hanson Aggregates, earning many Sales Awards including “South Central Region Outstanding Achievement” and running thru every door of opportunity!

This work ethic led him to another hard-working, Christian family a.k.a. Conner’s Construction where he continued to enjoy the business & pleasure of crushing & selling all the rock possible!

Larry was a perfectionist with attention to detail and always kept his yard well-manicured.

After work was complete, Larry definitely liked to have fun; enjoying many card games with his buddies.

He loved fishing & especially got a big kick out of granddaughter, LaLa, who would insist to bait her own line from about age SIX years young.

Larry loved country music and after retirement, enjoyed attending live concerts of Tracy Byrd; Carrie Underwood, Reba McIntreMcEntire, Luke Bryan and Alan Jackson.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents & grandparents; in-laws, Hugh & Doris Reed; nephew, Jacob Cook, and brother, Randy Williams.

Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn. To their union, two children were born and Larry always said, when we are gone, we leave something good behind. Daughter & son by marriage, Rachel & Jason Scott of Fairfield, TX. Son & daughter by marriage, Jay Alexander (Alex) & Courtney Eidson Williams of The Woodlands, TX. Grandchildren: Catherine & Logan Taylor of Waco; Christopher Scott of Waco; Preston Scott, U.T. student in Austin; Lauren Scott of Fairfield, TX; Waverly, Reece & Payson Williams of The Woodlands.

He is also survived by Sisters-in-law: Barbara Bonner & husband, Jody of Fairfield; Bette Cook & husband, Dr. Mike Cook of Tomball; Marilyn Toothman & husband, Gary of Tyler; brother-in-law, David Reed & wife, Sheri of Fairfield. Brother, Michael David Williams, and significant other, Guy Vardeman of Las Vegas, NV. and his brother’s widow, Janet Williams; plus, a host of high-achieving nieces & nephews scattered from Fairfield to New York!
