The Fairfield Lady Eagles magical season ended at Athens High School in the Region III tournament. They reached the regional final but fell to Nacogdoches Central Heights in straight sets.

The playoff run began with a straight set wins over Lexington (25-18, 25-20, 25-15) and Grandview (25-17, 28-26, 25-21) to reach the play in game for the regional tournament.

Fairfield would face possibly their toughest test of the season to date. The Troy Lady Trojans came to Robinson with the thought of pushing out the upstart Lady Eagles. The game was a marathon with Fairfield winning the fifth game to take a 3-2 match win (25-19, 25-20, 27-29, 26-28, 15-9)

The Lady Eagles qualified for their first trip to the Region III tournament in school history and would face the always tough and former champion East Bernard Lady Brahmas. The Lady Eagles won the first game convincingly 25-14 and had to grind out a game two win (26-24).

East Bernard rallied to win the third game (22-25) and Fairfield won game four (25-22) and the match and would vie for their opportunity to move on to the state tournament.

They would face Nacogdoches Central Heights Lady Devils and battled most of the afternoon but could not defeat them and fell in four games (25-14, 25-18, 9-25, 25-17)

The Lady Eagles program has been very successful over the years and their season comes to an end, but they have played superbly all year and the community and rivals and fans all salute a great season.
