Fairfield High School’s Girls Powerlifting Team took Second Place at the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association (THSWPA) Regional Meet held in Fairfield on Saturday, March 2, 2019.
Schools from Region 3, Divisions 2 & 3, brought their top athletes to compete.
Fairfield was proud to enter sixteen lifters and two alternates into the competition. This strong Fairfield team earned a second place, falling behind Gilmer and placing ahead of Bullard.
Team points are earned by combining individual ranking, giving everyone a chance to contribute.

Along with individual scores and team totals, outstanding lifters in both the light platform and the heavy platform were recognized. Three Eagle teammates earned this prestigious award, including:

–Bryunna Dowell: Outstanding Deadlift – Heavy Platform

The THSWPA 2019 State Championships will be held in Waco at the Extraco Events Center on Friday, March 15, 2019 beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Regionals for the Boys’ team will be held at Malakoff High School this Saturday, March 9, 2019.
There will be roughly half as many boys as there were girls competing; and state competition is scheduled for Abilene later this month.
