Wortham beat Mt. Calm in three games: 25-10, 25-11, & 25-8.

District Record 9-0

Kayla Lansford led with 8 kills, 4 aces, 9 digs and 3 blocks.

Ashley Mao also had 8 kills, 3 digs and 3 aces.

Setter Jayde Hamilton had 5 kills, 1 dig, 4 aces and 12 assist.

Libero Hallie Fautt had 12 digs

Skylar Phillips had 4 kills and 5 digs.

Samantha Wright had 3 kills, 2 assist and 1 dig.

Rylee Goolsby had 2 kills and 2 blocks.

Megan Whaley had 4 digs.

Getting some ball touches from JV was Jessica Black and she had 2 kills and one dig.

“Darcy Taylor was out today competing in rodeo, so freshman setter, Reagan Stuver, stepped up from JV,” says Coach DeAnna Whaley. “Reagan had 6 assist and 1 ace to help the team. I really enjoyed getting the chance to take a look into our future having a freshman setter come in and seeing how my team would adjust. Stuver did an awesome job and I am really impressed with what our future holds.”

 

Wortham vs. Italy

 

Wortham Lady Bulldogs beat Italy in three matches: 25-23, 25-12, and 25-22.

This was a Non-District Game.

“We started out the first game behind and struggled with several unforced errors,” says Coach DeAnna Whaley. “We came from behind to take to the win.”

Ashley Mao and Kayla Lansford had powerful serves in the second set that lead to the 25-12 win.

Kayla had 5 aces and Ashley Mao had 4 aces in the second game.

The third set had some good rallies with Wortham having 16 digs which led to 23 kills.

Jayde Hamilton had an impressive hustling match with three saves along with her leading the team.

Setter Jayde Hamilton lead the team with 15 assist, 11 kills, 6 digs, 5 aces and three saves.

Kayla Lansford led with 15 kills, 10 digs and 7 aces.

Ashley Mao had 11 kills, 5 aces and 2 blocks.

Libero Hallie Fautt had 14 digs and 4 kills.

Skylar Phillips had 5 kills, 3 assist and one dig.

Rylee Goolsby had 4 blocks, 3 kills, 2 digs and one ace.

Darcy Taylor had 6 assist, 2 aces and 2 digs.

Megan Whaley had 7 digs.

Samantha Wright had 5 kills and 1 assist.
