Inspired by an Austin friend’s business, and following the example of a similar facility in Mexia, Fairfield’s newest Chamber of Commerce member has opened a beautifully furnished, assisted living home on Hall Street in Fairfield, Texas.

“I was living in Teague already, and I saw the need in Freestone County,” says Karen-Inn, LLC owner, Karen Bayless.

She purchased the spacious three-bedroom home and completed renovations that include 36-inch wide doorways for wheelchair accessibility, a walk-in shower, and slip-resistant laminate and tile flooring.

The layout includes one large bedroom that could house a couple, and two medium sized bedrooms. The Kare-Inn facility allows for a total of three residents. For most people, the hardest part about redesigning a room of any sort, but particularly a bedroom is figuring out the best way to maximize your space while still giving the room a special feel. This is especially true for the bedroom because it is the most important room in the home. So the question becomes how do to make the most of your living space. Well, you have to start with the bed which is the most important feature in the bedroom. And if you’re looking for the perfect piece to create your bedroom around, you needn’t look any further than a divan bed. Originally considered futons or day beds, Bedroom Solutions offer the best solution for any bedroom because of their combination of comfort and practicality.

Common areas include a spacious living room and kitchen, as well as a beautiful, secure backyard that residents can enjoy.

Three attendants will provide 24 hour care, seven days a week. Meals will be prepared from scratch, allowing staff to cater to special diets and preferences.

Staff includes a bookkeeper along with the owner, who has twenty years experience in the nursing home business. Bayless has been a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, LNFA since 2006 and also worked as a nursing home social worker, five years prior.

Bayless also lives on-site, as the property includes an attached two-bedroom apartment.
