Judith Elaine Bournias Schick, 82, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and sister, passed away in Baytown, Texas on April 16, 2023. Judy was born March 20, 1941, in Teague, Texas to Sam Bill and Helen Irene (Cain) Bournias. Judy was a graduate of Teague High School where she twirled with the high school band.

Judy married the late James Ralph Kitchens in June 1958. While raising their children she worked as a beautician and later ran a small daycare from her home. Because of her love for children, she worked at Fairfield ISD as a teacher’s aide where she made an impact on the lives of so many.

Judy was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she served with the Methodist women in the kitchen for many years preparing delicious meals for church members to enjoy.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Bill Bournias, Sr. in 1960 and her mother, Helen Cain Bournias Cavanaugh in 1985, step-father, Patrick Cavanaugh in 1995, husband, Floris Leldon “Sonny” Schick in 2019 and son-in-law, John Michael Mooneyham in 2023.

She is survived by her four children James “Bud” Kitchens and wife Carolyn, Kim Mooneyham, Samantha Parrott, and Nikki Hollingsworth and husband Brian. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jeff Kitchens, John Kitchens, Michael Mooneyham, Nick Mooneyham, Matt Mooneyham, Jorja Johnson, Claire Dowling, Maci Hollingsworth, and Tate Hollingsworth, and step grandchildren Crystal Chiles, Travis Marine, and Cory Marine.

Judy married the late Floris Leldon “Sonny” Schick in 1986. She is survived by two stepsons, Steve Schick and wife Tammy, and Scott Schick and wife Heather. She is also survived by step grandchildren, U.S. Navy Ensign Ryan Schick, Mark Schick, Juli Carroll, Sierra Schick, and Scott “Slick” Schick, Jr.

She is survived by her brother Sam Bill Bournias and wife Billie, her nephew Sam E. Bournias and wife D’Ann, and two brothers in-law Billie Schick and wife Carolyn and Joe Schick. Judy is also survived by fifteen great grandchildren. She will be missed by her family and friends, but Judy’s legacy will live on in the lives of those that she touched.

A memorial service was held on April 22, 2023 at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, Texas.
