Jerry Alden McSwane, 80, of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021 in Fairfield. There will be a visitation with family and friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, September 2, 2021. A brief memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. with Bro. Don Suits, II officiating.
Mr. McSwane was born January 24, 1941 in Teague, TX to parents Cora Elizabeth and William Alden McSwane. He married Myrtle Teer on July 15, 1961. Mr. McSwane was a retired pipefitter in the power plant construction industry. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Fairfield and Fairfield Lodge #103 A.F. & A.M. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, W. R. McSwane.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Myrtle; three children, Annette Gurganus and husband Gary of Palestine; Russell McSwane and wife Cheryl of Elkhart, TX; Amy McSwane of Fairfield; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one sister, Wanda Burks and husband Rufus of Donie, TX; numerous nieces and nephews.
