Jeanie V. Adams, age 83, passed away peacefully at her home in Wimberley, Texas on March 30, 2022.

Jean was born on November 3, 1938 in Nacogdoches, Texas to parents Pauline and Vert Lee Herrington. She moved to Freestone County, Texas in 1973 where she raised a family, built a career and cultivated lifelong friendships. Jean worked in real estate, notably leading Adams Title & Abstract in Fairfield for decades. In 2009, Jean moved to Wimberley, Texas to enjoy her retirement in Hill Country.

The epitome of grace and elegance, Jean parted the waters when she walked into a room. A keen-witted, self-made professional, she was a force to be reckoned with. She was also among the kindest, most generous women — always ready to extend her friendship, hospitality and helping hands whenever she could. Jean gave readily of her time and talents to community, professional, and social organizations all the days of her life. She left a lasting impression on the many people whose lives she touched and will be greatly missed.

Jean was preceded in death by parents Pauline and Vert Lee Herrington; siblings Marjorie Whalin, Verna Stokes, Edgar Leroy Herrington and Barbara Ann Bridges. Jean is survived by two cherished sons, Randolph Allen Eaves and John Claude Adams; sister Kathy Nell Stringer; and many nieces and nephews.

Jeanie spent her last days at home, in the company of her family and friends, just exactly as she wanted — enjoying happy hour, playing cards, laughing, and talking with the people whom she most loved. This treasured time, she said, was all the service that she wished for to mark her passing.

Condolences may be offered to: 22 Meridian Drive, Wimberley, TX 78676.
