At 11:30 a.m., join Fairfield Mayor Kenneth Hughes, and local young entrepreneurs, for the signing of a Lemonade Day Proclamation.

Lemonade Day – Fairfield, set for May 6th, is an annual event designed to empower the youth of today to be the leaders of tomorrow. The program seeks to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit of our children by allowing them to operate their own business – a lemonade stand.

Lemonade participants are also encouraged to drop off samples during the Eggstravanaza on Saturday for the Best Taste Testing contest (winners announced following the May 6th event).

Of course, there’s even more fun to be had as Fairfield’s downtown retailers invite the community to bring their pocketbooks and enjoy Mimosa Morning this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon.

Religious Observances

For those wanting to celebrate a more traditional Easter, here are a few services being held in the area:

The new Faith Fellowship Baptist Church in Fairfield will celebrate ‘The Colors of Easter’ program on Wednesday, April 5th at 6:30 p.m. They are located at 626 West Main Street in Fairfield.

Fairfield Harmony Presbyterian Church will hold a Maundy Thursday Service on Thursday, April 6th at 6:00 p.m. They are located at 119 W. Main in Fairfield.

Trinity Lutheran Church will hold Good Friday services on Friday, April 7th at 6:00 p.m. They are located at 1100 E. Commerce Street in Fairfield.

First Baptist Church of Donie will sponsor a Community-Wide Easter Sunrise Service at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 9. The service will be held outdoors at the Donie Community Center.

River of Life Family Worship is hosting an outdoor, bilingual service beginning at 11:00 a.m. under the circus tent. This annual Easter Exposition will include a FREE hot meal following the service, plus an Easter Egg Hunt for all ages (rain or shine) beginning at 2:00 p.m. Enjoy a big 24-foot slide, games, and door prizes (located at 1201 E.
