Help decorate downtown Fairfield for the Fall season by entering the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce’s Eighth Annual Scarecrow Contest.

The contest is open to all ages, individuals, families, clubs, groups & businesses.

Divisions include:

–Adult Individual or Adult Group (Clubs, Church, or Civic Groups)

–Youth Individual or Youth Groups (Schools, Scouts, Teams, Clubs) Must be completed by children under 14 years.

–Business Group (Let your Scarecrow promote your Business!)

Theme may be Traditional, Whimsical, Fairytale, Humorous, Fantasy, Celebrity, etc.

No Political Statements or Inappropriate Displays Allowed.

Business category ONLY may have advertisements.

The Chamber of Commerce reserves the right to disqualify entries they feel to be distasteful or not family friendly.

Entry applications may be turned in from September 11th thru 29th. There is no entry fee for this contest.

Space is limited, so it will be based on a first come, first served basis. There are only 23 light posts available.

Scarecrows may be installed Saturday, October 7th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or Sunday, October 8th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Only scarecrows registered by 4:00 p.m. on September 29th will be considered by the judges. Scarecrows will be judged by community judges with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes in each division.

Winners will be announced and contacted on October 16th.

The scarecrows will remain on display for the public, weather permitting, through the month of October. They must be taken down the weekend of November 3rd.
