Wortham ISD has a new Superintendent, Melissa Bosley.
Mrs. Bosley has worked in education for 27 years, and proudly professes, “Kids are my passion and at the center of all our decisions. To me, there is nothing better. “
After graduating from Mexia ISD in 1988 she continued her education while attending Baylor University for her Bachelor of Arts in English, and her Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from University of Texas San Antonio.
She began teaching in Corsicana ISD before moving to Red Oak ISD and Northside ISD in San Antonio.
Her administrative career began in San Antonio, but 2016 brought the chance for her and her husband to move back to central Texas.
She began work as the Curriculum Director for Clifton ISD up until last year when she accepted the position at Wortham ISD.
Because of her growing up in Mexia she happily states that,”coming to Wortham ISD is like coming home.”
She praises how Wortham ISD welcomed her with open arms, and is excited to get to know the community through events, both school and city orientated.
She expresses how, “one thing I want for the Wortham community to know about me is that I love what I get to do each and every day.”
On a personal note, her husband, Jim works for Texas Farm Bureau in Waco. The proud parents have two Aggie graduates. Chase, their son, is a petroleum engineer in Midland, Texas, while their daughter, Callan is a first-year public school teacher.
Looks like Wortham ISD is in very capable hands.
