Five historical groups in Central Texas were proud to present to the Burlington-Rock Island Railroad Museum in Teague a monetary contribution following the successful and collaborative railroad symposium held in October. The three historical commissions of Limestone, Navarro, and Freestone Counties along with the planning and co-sponsorships to the Tehuacana Heritage Society and the Teague Historical Preservation Society set out to pull together railroad enthusiasts and noted speakers. Their goal was to archive information on the histories of the Trinity & Brazos Valley and the Houston & Texas Central Railroad Lines. The project was well received and in the end provided the area with a historical railroad publication and powerpoint videos prepared for educational purposes. These will be shown ongoing at the museum but also can be located in a series provided by the Limestone County Historical Commission on YouTube.

Through the generous gifts of sponsorship in the area the year-long work to provide the symposium ended with hope to provide another as Teague’s Railroad Station continues to rebuild its inventory and resources. The presentation of the funds to its board supports the ongoing work in curation of such a fine, historical, and educational building and artifacts.
