Herman Kelly Hager, Jr. 77, a former longtime resident of Corsicana, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at the home of his daughter in the Lanely Community of Freestone County.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Corinth Baptist Church in Dew (121 FM-489 Teague, TX 75860) with Pastor Carl Clark officiating. Inurnment of cremains will follow at Dew Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Scott Hollister, Jonathan Hollister, Marquis Melton, Jake Alford, Alex Jones and Tony Jones.
Herman was born October 7, 1942 in Dallas to parents Herman Kelly Hager, Sr. and Georgia Lee Ashworth Hager. He married Barbara Lue Yates on September 27, 1963 in Balch Springs at the home of her parents. She preceded him in death on October 30, 2017. Herman spent his entire life in the commercial construction business and was a retired superintendent with Holzem Construction of Dallas. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Corsicana and The Oaks Golf Club of Corsicana. Herman and Barbara enjoyed a weekend home in the Lanely Community of Freestone County for many years. In addition to his parents and wife Barbara he was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Alexander Hager.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Kevin Kelly Hager and wife Victoria of Vancouver, WA; Sandi Hollister and husband Scott of Lanely; Westley Hager and wife Mary Ann of Ennis, TX; Gary Wayne Hager, Jr. of Milam, TX; one brother, Gary Wayne Hager, Sr. of Milam, TX; four sisters, Betty Lou Dry of Terrell, TX; Doris Janice Thomas of Mabank, TX; Mary Jo (Jodie) Adkins and husband Larry of Oklahoma; Kelli Sue Reynolds and husband Terry of Mannford, OK; six grandchildren, Brandy Jones, Kaylee Barkouskie and partner Jake Alford, Jonathan Hollister and wife Shelby, Bradleigh Hollister and partner Marquis Melton, Candice and Peyton Hager; seven great-grandchildren, Alex and Tony Jones, Garrett, Preslee and Cash Barkouskie, Marleigh Melton and Rainy Hollister.
