If you are a fan of good food, and love a good garage sale, this is your weekend!

Wortham City Wide Garage Sale will be held in Wortham, Texas on Saturday, April 29th. Participants will choose their own hours.

The Community Care Club will host their annual CCC SuperSale Fundraiser at the Southern Oaks Fire Department from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29th. SOVFD is located at 120 Southern Oaks Drive just off FM 416. Good Eats food trailer will be on site for breakfast and lunch

Butler will host a Community Garage Sale from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29th at the E.E. Wheat Community Memorial Center. This is also the day of their ‘Lil Taster of Butler’ event, serving the best in downhome cooking beginning at 11:00 a.m., $15 donation per plate.

Beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Streetman Volunteer Fire Department will serve up their annual Fish Fry and Cake Auction at the fire house. Dinner will be served until they run out of food, and the auction for dessert will start at 6:00 p.m. Door prizes and surprise raffle item will also be available.

Gamers are invited to attend Teague Young Famers BINGO Night from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29th at the THS Cafeteria. Cost is $10 for 2 BINGO cards, popcorn and water. Proceeds go back to the kids!

Freestone County Go Texan Scholarship Association is hosting their 2nd Annual BBQ Cook-Off this weekend April 28th & 29th at the W.L. Moody Fairgrounds in Fairfield. This is an IBCA Sanctioned Event with $5,000 Add-On Prize Money.

Update:  We are keeping an eye on the forecast for this weekend, and making back up plans for the rain! We have plans to move some things around under covered areas. We all hope for dry and sunny, but just in case, y’all stay tuned for updates!

Bring your tents & umbrellas, we still plan to have a good time and cook awesome food! In the meantime, pray for a dry weekend.

On Friday, the cook teams meeting is 6:00 p.m. at the big band trailer, horseshoes games begin at 7:00 p.m., and Cooks Choice and Desserts will be turned in at 8:00 p.m.

On Saturday, Beans will be turned in at 10:30 a.m., Chicken at 12:00 p.m., Ribs at 1:30 p.m., Brisket at 3:00 p.m.., and Cornhole games begin at 4:00 p.m.

Judges will be needed both days, for those wanting to volunteer their tastebuds.

In addition to the Cook-Off and tournaments, there will be vendors and a silent auction. Live music is scheduled as follows:
