The 2022 Big T Memorial Cook-Off is set for September 9th & 10th. Event will include a “Touch A Truck” event for the kids, Disc Golf Tournament for all ages, as well as a 42 Tournament for domino lovers, Kids Cookoff, and live music featuring TJ Holden and Jesse Duke.

The event will be held at the W.L. Moody Reunion Grounds in Fairfield, Texas.

Those entering the Cook-Off are encouraged to sign up during Early Bird Registration before Friday, August 26th to be entered into a drawing for a chance to win your entry fee back!

The annual Big T Memorial Cook-Off is a Lonestar Barbeque Society State Championship Cook-Off which include a $10,000 payout.

Main categories include Chicken, Spareribs and Brisket. Jackpot categories are Beans and Cook’s Choice.

Entry fee for Main Categories is $200 per team. Jackpot Categories are $25 each.

Cook team registration is from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 9th. Cook’s meeting is at 6:00 p.m.

Golden Circle Special Needs Association, along with Big T’s Buddies Autism Support Network, has donated to area schools and various special needs programs for the past several years. Thanks to the generosity of our cook teams and sponsors, these much-needed funds have been used for life skills classes and for furthering the mission of special needs camps in our local 5-county area.

42 Tournament

Teams or Singles are welcome to enter the 42 Tournament on Friday, September 9th at the Green Barn (Civic Center).

Cost is $20 per person, $40 per team.

Registration begins at 5:15 p.m. with Tournament play beginning at 6:30 p.m. following a reading of the rules.

Bracket will be determined by the number of teams registered by 6:30 p.m.

Prize for First Place is cash money and a commemorative set of dominoes.

Disc Golf Tournament

Disc Golf is coming to the Big T Memorial event on Saturday, September 10th.

The Big T Challenge will be conducted as a non-sanctioned Flex Start from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (last card out).

All players will receive 3 discs to compete.

Cost will be $35 with 3 Divisions, 3 Discs.

Touch-A-Truck Event

Hosted by Golden Circle Special Needs Association, Touch-A-Truck is an event where kids of all ages can see, hear, smell, and touch a variety of cool trucks and other vehicles.

Event will be held at the fairgrounds from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 10th.

Cost is $5 per person (or $20 per family) to explore a fire truck, ambulance, police car, bulldozer, track hoe, tractor, dump truck, and much more!

Businesses or individuals can bring their big / cool / strange trucks and let kids get a close-up experience with vehicles that would usually be off-limits.

Kid’s Cook-Off Challenge

Have a kiddo who loves to cook? Sign up for the Kids Cook-Off Challenge held Saturday, September 10th.

Any kid between the ages of 8 and 17 years will be eligible to compete.

All contestants will be provided with meat, 14” charcoal portable grills, and charcoal for the contest.

Junior Division (8-12-year-olds) will receive 1 pound of ground beer.

Senior Division (13-17-year-olds) will receive 2 boneless pork loin chops.

You may prepare your meant in any manner you like, but the meat must be the main ingredient.

Check-in and set up beginning at 3:00 p.m. Cooking starts at 4:00 p.m., and food must be ready by 5:00 p.m.

Cost is $25 per entry. Please register by Monday, September 5th to guarantee meat and grill.

Barbeque

Cook-Off entries will be turned in for judging on Saturday, September 10th beginning with Beans at 11:00 a.m. and ending with Brisket at 4:00 p.m.

Judges are needed! Sign up to be a judge for the State Championship Cookoff. Judging starts at 11:00 a.m. with the last category at 4:00 p.m.

BBQ Fundraiser Sale will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (or sold out), Awards announced about 6:00 p.m., and Live Music will be from 7:00 to 11:30 p.m.

Vendors & Lemonade Stands

Vendors are still needed. Looking for candy/popcorn stands, craft businesses, t-shirt businesses, mobile boutiques, cottage food businesses, and more.

Booth fee is $25.

All trailers must be self-contained. Limited electricity on the grounds.

Attention all LEMONADE DAY participants: Booth fee will be waved for all Lemonade Day participants.

Local Business

A Receipt Raffle will be held on Saturday during the Big T Memorial Cookoff for anyone to enter who can provide a receipt from a Fairfield business during the weekend of the event.

Include your business information in the Welcome Packets that each team receives on check-in day. Ad space is available at $20 for 1/4 page or $40 for 1/2 page
