This weekend will offer several opportunities to find some awesome treasures, and maybe even to get rid of some things.

First, Cucklebur Trading of Fairfield is having a “Going Out of Business” Sale on Friday and Saturday, April 16th & 17th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

A Spring Citywide Garage Sale on Saturday, April 17th is being hosted by the City of Fairfield and Fairfield Chamber of Commerce. There are over 35 listings for the event. Click here for listings.

Also in Fairfield on Saturday, downtown retailers are hosting a Mimosa Morning from 10:00 a.m. to 12: noon with drinks, snacks, and special sales. Look around town for the flier for the list of participating shops, or check the Chamber on social media for more information.

Warmer weather means it is almost time for Lemonade Day, with tasty drinks sold by young entrepreneurs. Judges will be getting an early start this Saturday with a Lemonade Taste Testing Contest.

Participating Students can drop off their samples at the Freestone County Courthouse Square between 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Folks are also welcome to join the Lemonade gang for a picture at 12:00 noon of the signing of this year’s Lemondade Day Proclamation by Mayor Kenneth Hughes. Call the Chamber office at 903-389-5792 if you plan to attend.

Lemonade Day 2021 will be held on Saturday, May 1st.

Everyone is invited to the Community Care Club’s annual SUPER SIZED GARAGE SALE on Saturday, April 17th from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Southern Oaks Volunteer Fire Department, located just off FM 416.

There will be something for everyone at this event:

–A collection of specialty items will be auctioned off from 11:00 a.m. to Noon during the “Awesome Auction” portion of the event.

–All items will go to half price from Noon to 1:00 p.m., just before the sale closes.

–A “Free Stuff Corner” will offer certain miscellaneous items that are usable but not sellable.

Finally, for those looking to get rid of recycling items, the monthly Recycle Day will be held on FHS/FJH campus on Post Oak Road in Fairfield on Saturday between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.

Accepted will be paper, plastic, and metal. NO glass at this time.
