On the evening of Friday, March 11, 2022, a call was received in reference to a driver of a car ramming into the rear of trailer being pulled by a truck while both vehicles were traveling North bound on FM 488 near the FM 833 intersection. The driver and passenger of the truck pulling the trailer turned onto FM 1124 to try and get away from the suspect, but the car ramming the trailer followed as it continually kept driving into the back of the trailer. FCSO Deputies Weinmann, Pickens, and Leatherman, and Pct 3 Constable McGowan and TxPWD Park Officer Ware responded to the location.
An investigation was conducted on scene where it was pretty obvious, due to the suspect’s vehicle damage doing the “ramming” into the trailer and the suspect himself stating the he thought about crashing into an on-coming vehicle, however, saw the trailer in front of him and decided to ram it instead. (Theses guys and their trailer might have been someone’s saving grace from being hit head-on)
When asked why this was a course of action, the suspect stated that he no longer wanted his vehicle and decided to destroy it.
During the investigation, the suspect was determined to be traveling from College Station. it was further learned that there was no provocation or other interaction between the drivers of the vehicles that occurred prior to the suspect’s decision to begin ramming the trailer.
Both victims in the truck wished to pursue criminal charges and the subject was placed under arrest for 2 counts of Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon. An inventory of the suspect vehicle lead to finding of prescribed medication that was not prescribed to the suspect. The suspect was charged additionally with Possession of Dangerous Drug and was transported to the Freestone County Jail for book in. Fortunately neither of the victims or the suspect were injured during this incident. The trailer received minor damage. The suspect’s vehicle sustained major front end damage.
The suspect remains in the Freestone County Jail at this time, which definitely sounds like it’s a lot safer than him being back on the street behind a wheel.

On the night of 3/11/2022, Deputy Darby, assisted by Deputies McAdams and Hill, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on I-45 north of Fairfield. During the course of the traffic stop, a vehicle search was conducted where Deputies recovered Ecstasy (MDMA), prescription medication (Xanax bars), and multiple credit/debit cards in various other people’s names.
During the course of the investigation, information was obtained that linked the credit/debit cards to local citizens of Teague and the information has been turned over to Teague PD.
Two male subjects were arrested and booked into the Freestone County Jail on the following charges:
* Possession Controlled Substance PG 2 > 1g < 4g (3rd degree Felony)
* Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information < 5 items (State Jail Felony)
* Possession Controlled Substance PG 3 < 28 grams (Class A Misdemeanor)
Not sure if these folks were trying to buy their narcotics by credit in someone else’s name ( that was a joke), but they have been reminded that their choice of narcotics is against the law and so is possessing credit cards in other people’s name ….. especially when they don’t know you have them.
Good work gentlemen.
