by Sheriff Jeremy Shipley

Yet another year has passed and another year is upon us…with blessings all around us.

With the end of one year and the beginning of a new one, I always feel it to be the perfect time to refresh, re-evaluate, recommit, and re-establish, where we are, what we’re doing, and where we want to be; both personally and professionally.

As with the last 20+ years, I’m thankful to have been able to reside and work alongside my friends and family and the great citizens of Freestone County in 2022, and I’m just as thankful in knowing I get to do it again in 2023.

Freestone County is special in the fact that regardless of where we are, what community we reside in, or what might be going on, our citizens are always there to help each other, lend a hand, and unite to get any job done for the betterment of our people. Whatever may come, whatever may happen, any obstacles that may be in our way in 2023, we the people of Freestone County will, undoubtedly, push through with our strength through unity and our love for our fellow neighbors.

The desire to continue to build and be better than we were is essential to growth. If each of us, daily, place priority in focusing on adding value to other people’s lives, even with just some kindness and a smile, we will foster an even stronger, better, and safer community.

I’m blessed and honored to continue to be your Freestone County Sheriff, and I’m proud to call you my friends.

Wishing you the very best in 2023.

Happy New Year!

I love my people.
