The FCSO would like to introduce to you “Going Ballistic.”

Going Ballistic is a 501-C-3 non-profit organization that is established with the intent to provide law enforcement in Texas with ballistic shields. These shields, along with the accompanying training, will help our law enforcement professionals meet the ever demanding job of police work while protecting them from the dangers of an active shooter or similar threat.

These shields are quite expensive and therefore not normally issued to law enforcement officers other than specialized tactical units, especially in smaller, rural areas.

It is the goal of Going Ballistic to provide these life saving shields to the first responders in law enforcement to more quickly mitigate the risks of an active shooter without having to wait for SWAT-type units to arrive, thus saving lives.

If you want to change the conversation from problems to solutions, team up with Going Ballistic and help get rifle resistant ballistic shields and helmets into the hands of the communities that need them most.

The Freestone County Sheriff’s Office is very thankful and grateful to be a part of the Going Ballistic team, and we thank everyone who has already donated and all those considering donating to the safety of our communities and county and our law enforcement.
