“My Christian principles will guide me in every decision I make,” promises Linda Weldon, the newly elected Freestone County Chair.

She has the full support of her husband, Craig, who recently became a Precinct Chair.

Ms. Welson was a self-employed accountant for many years before retiring in 2017. This left her with time to devote to ensuring Texas stays “red.” She was the Republican Club President in Grand Prairie, Texas.

In addition, Ms. Weldon is a former State Republican Executive Committee Chairwoman where she served on Volunteerism, Candidate Resource and Resolution Committees.

She is a strong prolife advocate, making her voice heard throughout the offices in the State Capital on this and other Republican positions.

She plans to head up voter registration drives, and pledges to assist local high schools to get Turning Point clubs started. She intends to have a booth at every Freestone County event.

Big plans are being formed by the Freestone County Executive Committee (CEC) under her leadership to build community relations, identify and register new Republican voters, and lead in “Get Out the Vote” campaigns within their precinct.

The CEC members are composed of Precinct Chairs whose responsibilities, among others, include voting on party rules, budgets, and strategies. Some also serve on County committees and attended the State Convention.

CEC members take their responsibilities very seriously. Come to the Fairfield Library on the first Thursday of any month at 6:30 to meet Ms. Weldon and the spirited CEC members.
