Come and join the FREE community event, Tools for School, on Saturday, August 20th to get your student ready to start the new school year.
Incoming students can get FREE haircuts and trim, FREE immunizations, FREE school supplies and a FREE lunch.
Event will be held at the Green Barn (Civic Center) and Pavilion in Fairfield, Texas from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The community is encouraged to help get the word out.
“We don’t want any kid who needs it, not to know about the event,” says Jordan Daniels.
Jordan and Keith Daniels are the contact for this inaugural event.  For information, give them a call at 903-388-5516.
Tools for School is definitely becoming a big community event, as more and more people are joining in by volunteering their time, or making donations.
According to Jordan, 3 barbers and 3-4 hairstylists have joined the effort and will be giving basic haircuts and trims.
Donation boxes have gone out, all over town, for collecting school supplies.  Members of the community may donate at several locations in Fairfield, including Brookshire Brothers, Family Dollar, Fred’s, Good Neighbor Cleaners, Fertada Hair & Nail Studio, Texas Outfitters, First Baptist Church, Behind the Veil, Round Prairie Baptist and Cowboy Church.
Monetary donations are also welcome.
Jordan hopes that local church bus ministries will participate to help make sure every child in need may attend.
Be aware that the immunizations offered will be for children entering school ONLY.  Parents will need to bring shots records with them, the day of the event.
Volunteers will meet at 8:00 a.m. that Saturday in order to set up.
