A full day of fun may be had this Fourth of July holiday in Freestone County, Texas.

Here are some community events to enjoy:

Wortham

Come join Wortham for the “4th on Main” Parade. Bring your wagon, ride your bike, gator, tractor, ATV, mule, motorcycle, horses, make a float, drive your old car, dress up your pet/or yourself and walk.

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, July 4, 2018 beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Registration is FREE, but you must register, at either City Hall by June 29th. Registrations forms can be picked up at City Hall or at Farmers State Bank.

All parade registrants should meet at the baseball fields by 8:30 a.m.

After the parade fun includes hotdogs, chips, drinks, snow cones, and a water slide! Don’t forget your chairs, towels, and Patriotic spirit!

All food and drinks are free for everyone while supplies last!

Streetman

The 21st Annual Streetman Lawnmower Parade will be held on Wednesday, July 4th, 2018 beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Entries will line up on Main St. and Highway 80 at 9:30 a.m.

Children under 10 and animals must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event.

A free hotdog lunch will be offered following the parade. Don’t forget your chair!

Cookie and monetary donations welcome. Volunteers are needed as well.

Donie

The First Baptist Church of Donie will sponsor a Fourth of July Celebration on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. The celebration will take place from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

There will be a cookout, bounce house and water slide for the kids, crafts and games, as well as live music. This year’s music will be provided by Don Thornton of Fairfield, Stan Waldrip of Donie, and Betty Yates of Buffalo. The public is invited to bring their lawn chairs and join us as we celebrate our nation’s birthday.

Fairfield

  Fireworks show will go off at dark at the historic W.L. Moody Reunion Fairgrounds in Fairfield, Texas on Wednesday, July 4th.

Tune in to KNES 99.1 FM for patriotic music during the show.

Bring your lawn chair or blanket and have some great family fun.

Make plans to come early for food and fun.  Starting about 6:00 p.m., there will be face painting, kid’s activities and refreshments, including treats from the Kona Ice food truck.

The 4th of July fireworks are being sponsored by the City of Fairfield and Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.
