Filing ended Monday for the upcoming 2024 Republican and Democratic Primary Elections this coming Spring.

Only one race has developed for local county offices, that of Constable – Pct. 2 in the Republican primary.

Up for election in 2024 include County Sheriff, County Attorney, Tax Assessor-Collector, County Commissioners, Justice of the Peace, and Constables. The majority of these positions are unopposed, with only the incumbents filing their candidacy.

State offices that will appear on the ballot in Texas include 15 State Senators, all 150 State Representatives, Chief Justice of Courts of Appeals, and various District Judges and District Attorneys.

Texas voters will also choose a U.S. Senator (currently held by Ted Cruz), all 38 U.S. Representatives, Railroad Commissioner (currently held by Christi Craddick), 3 members of the Texas Supreme Court, 3 members of the Texas Court of Appeals, and 7 members of the State Board of Education.

Primaries will be held on March 5, 2024.

This is a Presidential election year, with both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump filing their candidacy, along with several Republican nominee hopefuls include Chris Christie, Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley.
