Fairfield High School honored Virginia Kraus for her hard work in tending the garden located at the school’s entrance.

FHS Principal, Von Wade, with members of the student council, presented Mrs. Kraus with a marker in the garden that reads: Die Kraus Garten (German for The Kraus Garden) – In honor and appreciation of Virginia Kraus for growing and nurturing the children of Fairfield ISD. – Dedicated: Fall 2018.

“I’m not doing this for a pat on the back, I just do it because I love gardening, and I love these kids!”

Mrs. Kraus worked at Fairfield Elementary for a total of 17 years. In 2010, she began the garden at the High School; and has lovingly tended it since then.

Future plans include taking large white rocks and having seniors write on them about where they plan to attend college, and scatter the rocks throughout the garden, along with a glowing walkway perfect for the night time.

Joining Mrs. Kraus at this special dedication was her husband, Mr. Wolfgang Kraus.

Congratulations!
