The Festival of Trees returns to the Fairfield Library. The Friends of the Fairfield Library have begun creating a Festival of Trees for the children and families to enjoy inside the library during the Christmas Season.  This annual fundraiser consists of decorated tree sponsorships sold to businesses and individuals.  Each decorated Tree will have a sign placed by the tree showing the tree sponsor during the duration of the festival.  Stop by the library and enjoy the beautifully decorated trees, and consider sponsoring a tree by your business or family.  The Festival of Trees generated $1,825 in 2019 which was used to enhance technology at the library.  All sponsorships are appreciated and help the library with needed items or programs.

The Friends of the Fairfield Library were busy in September at the City Wide Garage.  The Friends held a book sale at the Library during this event.   President, Angela Oglesbee, said the book sale at the library was quick, successful, and raised $1,028.00, which paid for $500 in new graphic novels, and a new Demco Library Book Cart.

There is always something happening at the Fairfield Library.  Activities at the library include Storytime, which is every Wednesday at 10:00 am; a family Movie Night on November 12th, and Bingo Night on November 19th.  The library will be closed for Thanksgiving on 25th and 26th.  Beginning in December, according to Library Director, Gary Wiggins, special Christmas activities will be at the library as well.  Be sure to check the Fairfield Library Facebook and Instagram pages for details.
