JUANITA MANNING, IN THE PINK SUIT AND HAT, celebrated her 91st birthday at a party on Saturday, July 29 at the Butler Senior Citizen Center.

On Tuesday, August 1, 2017, Ms. Juanita Manning celebrates her 91st birthday!

On Saturday, July 29th, she was told she was going to a “Hat Parade” at the Butler Senior Citizens’ Center, but was surprised with a birthday party!

She was greeted with many friends and family, including a niece that she raised, four sisters, several nieces and nephews, and an untold number of cousins.

Ms. Manning taught Sixth Grade Language Arts in the Butler School District and later retired from Fairfield ISD with a total 35 years of teaching under her belt.

She has led a life full of service to the community. Besides being a teacher, she served on the Board of the Freestone County Historical Commission, Child Protection Services Board, the Freestone County Museum Board, and is still the Manager of the Butler Senior Citizens’ Center.

As a member of Union United Methodist Church of Butler, Ms. Manning serves as the youth’s Sunday School Teacher, Announcement Clerk, is a member of the Board of Trustees, Program Chairperson, and Chairman of the Pastor Parish Relations Committee.
The birthday party offered up lots of fun and plenty of shared memories for all who attended.
