Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department had a successful first BBQ Dinner & Cake Auction Fundraiser on Saturday, June 1, 2019.
Preliminary numbers show the Department raised approximately $8,500 toward the purchase of firefighter gear by selling barbeque dinner plates, a cake auction, a live auction, and a riffle raffle.
Winning the riffle was Fairfield Police Officer Harold Markham.
Just for reference, if costs roughly $11,000 – $15,000 to outfit just one firefighter, all of which are volunteers.
This Department services a 233 square mile area and runs an average of 500 calls per year.
