For the first time, Lemonade Extravaganza Day will be observed in the City of Fairfield.
This is a pilot program for Fairfield Intermediate School that is teaching students how to start, own, and operate their very own business – a Lemonade Stand.
Over forty-two students signed on for the experience.
As business owners, they are being taught to set a goal, develop a plan, establish a budget, seek investors, provide quality customer service, and give back to the community.
The students will complete the program on Saturday, May 5th as they open for business from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Everyone is invited to come out and support these young entrepreneurs.
According to teacher Gina Martin, the students are encouraged through the program to SPEND, SAVE and SHARE by giving back to their community.
In their proclamation, and in the spirit of entrepreneurship, the City of Fairfield commends the volunteers and participants of the Lemonade Extravaganza Day and extends “best wishes for a successful and rewarding event.”
Among those assisting in this effort have been the parents (paying for the official backpacks and workbooks); Fairfield Chamber of Commerce (purchasing prizes for participants); and Jason Hullum with Community National Bank & Trust (for providing business instruction).
