Early Voting ends at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2nd as this week’s edition is being deliver to newsstands.

Election Day is Saturday, May 6th with polls open from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

On that day, Fairfield ISD voters in Freestone County will cast their ballots at the following locations:

–Fairfield ISD Career and Technology Center, 961 E. Commerce (Fairfield #1 and Fairfield #2)

–Wortham Community Center, 105 E. Main Street (Wortham #7 and Kirvin #6)

–Teague City Hall, 105 S. 4th Ave (Teague #5 and Teague #9)

–Butler Community Center, 1628 FM 489 E. (Butler #11, Donie #13 and Fairfield #1)

–Streetman City Hall, 204 East Main (Streetman #15, St. Elmo #8 and Fairfield #1)

City of Teague voters (Teague #5 and Teague #9) will cast their ballots on Election Day at Teague City Hall.

Both the City of Wortham and Wortham ISD (Wortham #7) will cast their ballots at the Wortham Community Center on Election Day.

City Council candidates

The following candidates will appear on the City Election ballots:

City of Teague:  Jerry Ballew and Sara Trevino for Alderman Place II; Jamie West and Bridgett Gauntt for Alderman Place IV; and Timothy Campbell and Asa Scott Adami for Alderman Place V.

City of Wortham:  incumbent Pellie Goolsby for Mayor; running for 2 at-large council positions will be incumbents Cliff NeSmith and Scott Batts, along with candidates Patrick Evans and Cal Johnson (write-in).

School Board candidates

The following candidates will appear on the School Board Election ballots:

Fairfield ISD:  Vying for 2 at-large trustee positions with Fairfield ISD will be incumbents Kevin Benedict and John Fryer, along with candidates Toni Abram and Cleo McElroy.

Wortham ISD:  Incumbent Michael Dunn has filed for Place 5 – Trustee; candidates Jennifer R. Evans and Brett Duke filed for Place 6; and incumbent Jeff Jones has filed for Place 7.
