Eleanor Jo Bozeman Clark, 90, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 in Waco, Texas leaving a legacy of faith and patriotism to her family, friends and loved ones. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2022 at Capps Memorial Chapel. A service of Christian burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at First United Methodist Church of Fairfield with Pastor Lillard Clark and Pastor Jeffrey Loomis officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfield Cemetery.
Mrs. Clark was born February 10, 1932 in Thornton, Texas to parents Joe and Eleanor Powell Bozeman. Throughout her memorable life some of her accomplishments included; distinguished alumni of Teague High School Class of 1949, studied at Navarro College and the University of Houston, Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Fraternity, first woman graduate, of Financial Institute in Memphis. She authored eight books, four of which won awards and was a recipient of the DAR National Education Award. In addition, she has faithfully served her community and church as a member of First United Methodist Church of Fairfield.
She married Lee Carlton Clark on December 24, 1952 in Teague, TX and he preceded her in death on July 8, 2011. In addition to her husband and parents she was also preceded in death by a sister, Martha Grubbs; a brother, James Bozeman; a son, Joseph Clark; a son-in-law, Bruce Henderson and a grandson, Micah Clark.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sherrie Wilson and husband Sam of Plano, TX; Gerrie Henderson of Hubbard, TX; Susan Loomis and husband Jeff of East Tawas, Michigan; Lillard Clark and wife Terrie of Marlin, TX; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
