Funeral services for Dorothy Ann Thompson O’Pry, 71, were held Wednesday, July 3rd at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Chaplain Andrew Weitner officiated. Interment followed at Lost Prairie Cemetery.
A visitation was held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, with the family present, at the funeral home.
Ms. O’Pry passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Fairfield Nursing & Rehab.
Dorothy Ann Thompson O’Pry was born in Abbott, Texas on April 19, 1948 to Nathel & Jimmie Thompson. She was the 7th born of eight children.
Dorothy married Marion “Lee” O’Pry on December 1, 1965 and together they had three children, Marvin, Lea and Brenda. They opened their home to many children over the years and in their later years adopted three more children, Alexis, Adam and Trey. Dorothy’s grandchildren meant the world to her and she was deeply loved by her family.
She is also survived by six children, Marvin O’Pry & wife Laura of Fairfield, Lea Kitchens & husband Steve of San Antonio, Brenda Kinsey & husband Brian of Waco, Alexis O’Pry, Adam O’Pry and Trey O’Pry all of Fairfield; nine grandchildren, Brandon O’Pry & wife Ashley of Corsicana, Rachel “Danielle” Nunez of Houston, Rebecca Krell & husband Chris of San Antonio, Robin Rohlmeier of San Antonio, Lee O’Pry of Masfield, Brie Kinsey of Waco, Daniel Kitchens, Dayton Kitchens, and Desmond Kitchens all of San Antonio; three great-grandchildren, Braydon, Kaiden and Kimber; five siblings, Charlie Thompson, Mickey Thompson, Robert Thompson, Mary Upmore, and Linda “Sue” Thompson
She was preceded in death by both parents; two sisters, Ruth Thompson and Pat Warren; two brothers, J. R. Thompson and Wilburt Thompson.
