The Wortham Police Department Reserves War on Drugs Hog Hunt is set for February 9-11, 2018.

A great weekend of fun is being planned, so if you like to hog hunt, cook BBQ, or toss some horse shoes and washers, mark the date.

Hunting begins Friday, February 9th at 6:00 p.m.

Buckles and payout money will be awarded Sunday, February 11th.

Barbecue Cook-off, Horseshoe and Washer Tournaments will be held on Saturday, February 10th.

Also on Saturday will be a Dance at 8:00 p.m. with music by Justin Chapman, Lanky Moore, and Kyle Lane.

All events will be held at the Wortham City Park.

6th Annual “War On Hogs” Hunt

There will be two divisions:
–Dog Hunt with maximum 4-man teams. Knife kills only, this year.  Entry fee is $300.
–Conventional Hunting with maximum 2-man teams. Entry fee is $100.

All divisions will have $50 side pots for biggest Boar and $50 side pots for biggest Sow.

Payout to First, Second and Third Place.  Buckles to First Place teams, and Bonus to Team with most hogs weighed.

Door prizes will also be given away.

BBQ Cook-Off

Entry fee is $200 and includes one entry into the following categories:
–Brisket
–Pork Ribs
–Chicken
–Cook’s Choice

There will be Jackpots for Beans, Chili, and Dessert (each $25).

Buckles awarded to Grand Champion; trophies to Reserve, First, Second, and Third Places.

Event benefits the War on Drugs.

Tournaments
Horseshoe Tournament will be $30 per team.  Buckles awarded to First Place.
Washer Tournament will be $30 per team.  Buckles awarded to First Place.
