Dear Editor,
Recently and on a very conscious level, it sank in why I actually love the diligence of dedication as presented by this paper.
As I reflect on the people who contribute to presenting this weekly affair, I am amazed.
From the folks who connect the public to the businesses, to the people who deliver this gem to our respective doors and who are all in unison with the publisher’s and manager’s goals for the paper, I say kudos.
Yes, there is hard news. Reading about traffic accidents and the reality of living with nature is a lot to take in, yes? Then there is the neighborhood news. An informal introduction to your town, if you will.
The education one takes away from the writers is priceless. Their writing styles encourage one to research other sides to information presented. This is how great writers inspire.
And that is why I wanted to say “I love my paper.”
I anticipate its arrival, I hoard it just so I can be the first to indulge and I consider this experience a guilty pleasure, as there is always work to be done. This weekly arrival is something I believe is a pulse on Fairfield, as it were. Thanks to each of you who work tirelessly for this gift of literacy enlightenment. I am not disappointed.
Louis I. Kahn said it best about the printed word: “A book is tremendously important. Nobody ever paid for the price of a book, they only paid for the printing.”
If you are reading this, I’d like to think you agree.
