Dear Editor,

Crisis on the Rivers

Without a doubt, we have a severe crisis on our borders. The Canadian one seems safe enough. The other two are critically in danger. The border closer to us is of course the Rio Grande River, established in 1836 as the southernmost border of the Republic of Texas. Since becoming a state in 1845, it has been protected by law, the Texas Rangers, and subsequently the U.S. Border Patrol.

We all have seen in the media the almost total breakdown of border law enforcement. As of this writing, thousands of “migrants” have broken the law and encamped on the Texas side of the river, waiting to be “processed” and released into the general population. This law enforcement failure is shameful, despicable, and plainly the result of failed federal policy. America is not, should not, and cannot be the Salvation Army benefit for the world’s problems. Washington shirks its sworn duty to enforce the law; in doing so, the current administration is complicit in this crime. First the shameful Afghanistan surrender; now the surrender of our borders with “catch and release” as the policy.

The Rio Grande tragedy is, however, symptomatic of the greater crisis on the Potomac River at the District of Columbia, the seat of our government. The crisis there is a leadership/management failure. There is surely a leadership vacuum. The president is visibly in a reduced mental state (he can’t follow a teleprompter); the alt-left wing of the once great Democratic party calls the shots. Their leadership includes no patriots; V-P Harris is in way over her head, and Ms. Pelosi actually calls the shots. Their vision is to make America like California, plainly a failed state. This bodes ill for the future succession process.

Solution Possibilities:

  1. A full-court press to retake all of the congress, elect a conservative president in 2024, and reverse the downward slide we presently suffer.
  2. Resignations/retirement of the Biden, Harris, and Pelosi clique – with full pensions, etc. Retire to private life. A provisional government in place for 90 days with honest elections within 90 days.
  3. Pray God or some other force encourages option # 2.

The alternative is to surrender the American dream and accept a welfare state funded by higher and higher taxes until, like California, America doesn’t work anymore and people leave.

God Bless America!
